No boat shop would be complete without its resident shop dog. Shelly the shop dog loves nothing more than to get as covered in saw dust as humanly possible, to nudge your arm when doing precision chisel work, and to lay in the exact place you need to be standing and refuse to move. Her most impressive achievment to date is dragging a 20 foot canoe plank out her dog door. Efforts to train her to sand for me still fail to bare fruit but I’m not giving up hope. Harp Boat Shop wouldn’t be the same without her.
